CB Certification

The CB system (IEC Conformity Testing and Certification System for Electrical Products) is an international system operated by the IECEE in which certification bodies in IECEE member countries test the safety performance of electrical products according to IEC standards and the test results, known as CB test reports and CB test certificates, are mutually recognised in IECEE member countries.CB certification provides evidence that a representative sample of a product has successfully passed evidence that the test has been successfully passed and that it meets the requirements of the relevant IEC standard. Upon successful completion of the test, a CB test certificate and corresponding CB test report will be issued for the product. CB is primarily used for transfer of certification and when a luminaire product with a CB certificate needs to be transferred to national certification, the cost and lead time is greatly reduced and entry into new markets is rapid. If you want to enter markets to sell luminaire products in countries that do not have their own certification, you can prove that the product has been certified or approved at an international level by doing a CB certification.

The member countries of the CB system provide an easy way for manufacturers to obtain multi-national safety certification for their products and there are currently 54 member countries, encompassing the major economies of the world (China, Australia, Korea, Japan, Germany, France, UK, USA, Brazil, Mexico, UAE, Saudi Arabia, etc.) with a total of 92 National Certification Bodies (NCBs). CB’s certification scope system currently covers a total of 22 electrical equipment & component/testing categories, including safety, EMC and energy efficiency E3 requirements.
