Communication Cable

Communication cable (English name: communication cable) is a cable used for near-range audio communication and long-range high-frequency carrier and digital communication and signal transmission, and is one of the five major cable products in China. According to the use of communication cable and the scope of use, can be divided into six series of products, namely, city communication cable (including paper insulation city phone cable, polyolefin insulation polyolefin sheath city phone cable), long-distance symmetrical cable (including paper insulation high and low frequency long-distance symmetrical cable, copper core foam polyethylene high and low frequency long-distance symmetrical cable and digital transmission long-distance symmetrical cable), coaxial cable (including small coaxial cable, medium coaxial and tiny coaxial cable), submarine cable (can be divided into symmetric submarine and coaxial submarine cable), fiber optic cable (including the traditional cable type, ribbon array type and skeleton type three), RF cable (including symmetric RF and coaxial RF).

Communication cables have more types and specifications, common communication cables include:

1. twisted pair: twisted pair is a common communication cable, made of two insulated wires wound together, mainly used in local area networks and telephone systems.

2. coaxial cable: coaxial cable consists of a central conductor, insulation, outer conductor and sheath, mainly used in television, radio and satellite communications.

3. Fiber optic cable: Fiber optic cable consists of optical fiber and outer sheath, mainly used in optical communication and high-speed Internet transmission, etc.

The design and manufacture of communication cables requires consideration of a variety of factors, such as transmission rate, signal interference, durability, mechanical strength, temperature range, etc. The performance of communication cables directly affects the quality and stability of communication systems, therefore, they need to be designed and manufactured in accordance with relevant electrical codes and standards to ensure their safety and reliability.

Communication cable electrical specifications are many and high. General metal cables have wire resistance, insulation resistance, working capacitance, insulation strength, capacitance imbalance and other requirements. For long-distance and coaxial cables, in addition to the above requirements, there are end impedance, impedance unevenness, attenuation constant, crosstalk and other special requirements.
