Metal fibers

Metal fibers are long, thin filamentary fibers made from metallic materials. Metal fibers are usually made of copper, aluminum, iron, steel, nickel, titanium and other metals, which have high strength, high electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties.

Metal fibers are generally up to micron level, such as stainless steel fibers are generally about 10μm in diameter, and the market supply of fine stainless steel fibers with an average diameter of 4μm. metal fibers have good mechanical properties, not only fracture than the strength and tensile modulus is high, and can resist bending, good toughness; has a good electrical conductivity, anti-static, such as tungsten fibers used as incandescent light bulbs filament, it is also anti Electromagnetic radiation and conductive and electrical signal transmission of important materials; with high temperature resistance; stainless steel fiber, gold fiber, nickel fiber, etc. also has good chemical resistance, air is not easy to oxidation and other properties.

Metal fibers have the following characteristics:

(1) Metal fibers can operate at temperatures from 500 to 590°C (930 to 1100°C) and may be used in more complex systems in the future.

(2) Metal fibers withstand high pressure drop, purification capacity and stability at high temperatures are better than ceramic filter media.

(3)Metal fiber has irregular section and regular surface area, which makes it have very large specific surface area

Metal fibers can be applied in the following fields:

1. textiles: metal fibers can be mixed with other fibers to make textiles with electrical conductivity, flame retardancy, antistatic properties, such as metal fiber fabrics, metal fiber knitted products, etc.

2. Electronic field: metal fibers can be used in electronic products, such as electronic circuits, antennas, capacitors, resistors, etc.

3. medical field: metal fiber can be used to manufacture medical devices and artificial organs, such as metal fiber vascular stents, artificial bones, etc.

4. aerospace field: metal fibers can be used in aircraft, spacecraft and other aerospace devices, such as metal fiber composites, metal fiber reinforced ceramics, etc.

5. construction field: metal fibers can be used to strengthen concrete, manufacturing bulletproof materials, fireproof materials, etc.

6. other fields: metal fiber can also be applied to artwork, decorations, clothing accessories and other fields.

Metal fiber has good electrical conductivity, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, and can meet the requirements of different fields of material performance, is a material with a wide range of prospects.
