Coaxial Cable
Coaxial cable is a commonly used type of cable for transmitting electrical signals. It consists of a center conductor, an insulating layer, an outer conductor, and an outer insulating layer, which are arranged coaxially.
- Center Conductor: The center conductor is the internal conductor of a coaxial cable and is usually made of copper or a copper alloy. It is the transmission path of the signal and is responsible for transferring the electrical signal from the sending end to the receiving end.
- Insulation: The insulation layer is located between the center conductor and the outer conductor, and is usually made of insulating materials such as polyethylene (PE) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Its role is to isolate the center conductor and the external conductor to prevent signal leakage and interference.
- External conductor: The external conductor is a copper mesh shield, usually made of multiple strands of fine copper wire braided together. Its function is to provide electromagnetic shielding to prevent external electromagnetic interference from affecting the internal signal.
- External Insulation: The external insulation is an insulating layer located outside the external conductor, commonly used materials are polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or low density polyethylene (LDPE). It serves to protect the cable from physical damage and environmental influences.
