Welded Armature Wires

Welded armature wire is the wire used for the armature windings of a motor, typically used to connect the armature coils to the armature lugs (or armature core, as it is called) during the motor manufacturing process. The following are details about welded armature wire:

  1. Wire Type: Welded armature wire is usually made with highly conductive copper wire. Copper has good electrical conductivity, which allows it to transmit current efficiently and is easy to handle during the soldering process.
  2. Insulation: Welded armature wire needs to be well insulated to prevent short-circuiting or leakage of current. Commonly used insulation materials include polyimide (PI), polyamide ketone (PAI) and other high-temperature insulation materials, which can withstand high temperatures and voltages and have good chemical resistance.
  3. Welding method: Welded armature wire is usually connected to the armature piece by resistance welding or laser welding. Resistance welding is through the resistance of heat will wire and armature piece heated to the melting point, and then quickly cooled, so that the wire and armature piece firmly connected. Laser welding uses a high-energy laser beam to melt the welding material and fuse it with the armature piece to form a strong welded joint.

Excessive temperature or time may result in overheating or excessive burns in the weld area, while insufficient pressure may result in poor weld contact.
  5. Welding Reliability: Welded joints in welded armature wires must have good reliability and durability to withstand conditions such as vibration, temperature variations, and current loading during motor operation. Welded joints should have good mechanical strength and electrical connection properties to ensure stable operation of the armature coil.

Welded armature wires play an important role in motor manufacturing, they connect the armature coil to the armature laminations tightly and form the key part of the motor. Welded armature wires need to have good electrical conductivity, insulation and welding reliability to meet the performance requirements of the motor. During the welding process, strict welding process control and quality inspection is the key to ensure the quality of welded armature wire.
